In their first appearance in the Second Round the FIFA Futsal World Cup since 1992, the USA were beaten by Argentina 2:1 in Group F of the 2004 tournament at the National Taiwan University Gymnasium in Taipei City, Chinese Taipei on Sunday.

Diego Giustozzi opened the scoring for Argentina in the fifth minute and then Fernando Wilhelm increased the lead to 2:0 over the USA with a double-penalty goal just before halftime.
