NEWHAM is set to host a
groundbreaking event dedicated to the
development of grass-roots football, from
Conference level down to school's football.
On the 16th and 17th of July, ExCeL, London will
host the Grass Roots Football Show 2005, the
first national event dedicated to football at
this level.
The show is set to benefit the millions of
coaches, managers, officials and administrators
committed to the grass-roots game.
It is hoped that the show will greatly help
educate, inspire and enlighten all its visitors
with its fantastic mix of key zones, which
include a coaches arena, FA learning theatre,
panel and debate forum and a cases studies zone.
All of this is set to run alongside a dedicated
exhibition, offering those there on the day the
chance to try out and assess the latest
football-related products and services.
Also widely anticipated is a keynote speech from
West Ham and England legend Sir Trevor Brooking,
pictured, who will be at the event to show his
support for the grass-roots game.
Ex-Arsenal and Scotland goalkeeping great and
former television pundit Bob Wilson will be
present at the event to take a goalkeeping
session, on behalf of the Gunners.
Other show highlights include a Chelsea v
Arsenal Ladies six-a-side match and an England v
Poland international Futsal encounter - a form
of five-a-side football.
Bob Rosen, the show's event director, commented:
"With Essex and East London being such a hot-bed
of football, ExCeL London was the obvious choice
for a show dedicated to football at the
grass-roots level."
"ExCeL is also proving to be hugely successful
with consumer shows and is now home to a number
of high profile events.
